Composer Study - Franz Schubert

Franz Schubert

You have to love the guy, who died at 31, ill, impoverished and neglected except by a circle of friends who were in awe of his genius. Anthony Tommasini

Franz Schubert (1797 - 1828) was an Austrian composer from the classical period. He never achieved fame from the masses but was admired by his peers, other musicians and composers. Though he died young, age 31, he wrote over 600 pieces of music, including his famous Trout Quintet.
