Feast of Ideas Week 7 - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart

Okay, be honest, how many of you were introduced to a lot of classical music through the Looney Tunes? Tom & Jerry singing Fiagaro while trying to destroy each other on stage? (see two videos at bottom of the blog) Well, if you watched any sort of cartoons from the 80’s and 90’s, you are already familiar with this week’s composer - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Mozart was a child prodigy, who in his well traveled, but tragically short life composed 600 different works of art. He wrote concertos, symphonies, quartets, chamber music, solo pieces for piano and for violin, religious music, organ music, dances, and of course, opera. This week, students will experience Mozart through one of his most recognizable piano pieces, Eine Kleine Nachtmusik
