Monday Music Activity - Flight of the.....

Join me in this fun musical listening activity. Great for kids ages 2 through 5 (but some 6 and 7 year olds might enjoy this as well).

Before you play the song, let’s think about what instruments we might hear? Do they sound high or low? What animal does the song make you think of? Before you press play, get some materials to keep little fingers busy so ears can focus on listening (coloring, blocks, or play-dough). So gather your “fidget” materials and settle in for a fun music activity with Ms. Beth.

What did you think? Could you figure out the animal the song was about? What about the instruments? Isn’t that fun how we can use sounds to create images in our mind?

• draw a picture as you listen to the song

• color in pictures of bumblebees

• check out the book “Can You Hear It? The Metropolitan Museum of Art” and listen to the song while looking at the artwork, Chrysanthemums.
