Online Music Class Resource (for individual or group lessons)

During this time of quarantines and social distancing, piano teachers and their students need to get creative. I am offering an easy to implement, adaptable, engaging 5 week mini-course that would be a GREAT resource for any piano studio (quarantine or not).

  1. It is easy to use for online lessons.

  2. The prep work is done for you - all you need are the lesson plans and access to the You Tube links.

  3. It works easily as group lessons. Finances might be tight for families so offering a group lesson for all the students in a family will be a great way to save money while still keeping your students and their families connected to your studio.

  4. The content of the material works for every age and level of student. The memory work will either be review (which you can never have too much of) or laying the ground work for the future.

  5. The activities allow you to focus on often overlooked areas of need. Let’s be honest, during your regular 30 minute lesson, you usually have enough time to review old pieces, learn a new concept, and start to become familiar with the new piece. How often do you get to focus on note recognition, finger technique, exposure to classical music or other musical genres like historical American music? This course allows you to enrich your students’ sometimes neglected musical repertoire and technical skills through fun and engaging games and activities.

  6. With school closures and uncertain end of the year plans, this offers a very flexible option to end out your school year with your students. Regardless of changes to government recommendations, these lessons can continue online or easily switch to in person group lessons allowing for continuity of service.
