YouTube Video Resources - from your friendly neighborhood Homeschooling Piano Teacher - Beth Smith Studio

One of my favorite things about homeschooling and education is the collaboration with other teachers and moms. I cannot tell you how many ideas I have gotten from other people. Whether it is which curriculum to use, a fun way to practice spelling, when to do our memory work – so much of my homeschool day has been shaped by ideas I have gotten from my community.

My goal during this time of self-distancing and enforced homeschooling, is to share the things I am doing in my home. I do this not because I think I have all the answers or that my way is the best way. I just want to help someone possibly spark an idea, overcome a sticking point or blind spot, reduce decision fatigue, build community, and be a familiar face to the children in my community. A benefit to a Youtube Playlist is that you can utilize it any time, whenever best fits the flow of your new at home routines.

I miss my informal and in person conversations with other parents but we can still share ideas online or over the phone and for that, I am very grateful.

- If you are interested in checking out the ideas I have or know someone who might enjoy getting extra ideas and seeing how they work, please subscribe to my Youtube Channel - Beth Smith Studio https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCp0dTqlMZjbjzG8KiKhqgMA?view_as=subscriber

Mondays: Music – I will review a music related book and demonstrate different ideas and activities for incorporating music lessons into your day

Tuesdays: Show & Tell – I will post my children’s (1 – 3 minute) presentations about whatever they want (show off a toy, play a song, tell a joke, tell a story). Great for children to get to see their friends and work on listening skills. Post a comment or a question for the girls - they would LOVE it!

Wednesdays: Read Aloud – I will post a read-aloud that I enjoy doing with my children (great for ages 3 to 8).

Thursdays: Action Activity – I will post either a game, science experiment, or fun learning activity that we do in the home with stuff you probably have already in your house, easy to replicate.

Please feel free to use, share, subscribe and be encouraged. Also, feel free to share videos of your children doing show and tell, reading, playing an instrument with me – my children and I would LOVE to see friends, even if it’s through a screen.
